I've managed to build a C-Kermit for my VMS 5.5 system using the
'hexified'
version of C-Kermit from Columbia.
I am now trying to ship some VMS savesets (actually VMSINSTAL files
for CMU's TCP/IP) from my Win98 box to the VMS system. I have
MS-Kermit version 3.mumble on the Win98 side.
I am aware of the goofy record size requirements and have set the
receiving C-Kermit on the Vax side to an appropriate value, but when I
try to SEND from the
Win98 box it immediately gets errors, retries its little heart out and
gives up.
I suspect there is a basic mismatch between the Kermits. Is there a
specific helpfile somewhere to help me get C-Kermit and MS-Kermit
talking to each other
properly?
Also: Can I avoid the record size stuff by WinZIPing the 4 savesets on
the Win98 side, sending the entrie zipfile as a binary to the VMS
system and then unzipping it?
Thanks,
Lee Roth
